How to Install a Blind Rivet

🔧 How to Install a Blind Rivet – Step-by-Step Guide from KSEET

Blind rivets (also called pop rivets) offer an efficient, single-sided fastening solution — ideal for applications where the reverse side is inaccessible. They are widely used in sheet metal assembly, lighting, electrical enclosures, air purification units, and automotive manufacturing.

With 18 years of expertise in the fastening industry, KSEET specializes in producing blind rivets, rivet nuts, and matching manual, pneumatic, and electric rivet tools, delivering complete fastening solutions to over 500 companies worldwide.

✅ Step-by-Step Installation Instructions:

  1. Drill a Hole
Use a drill bit matching the rivet’s body diameter. For example, a 4.8mm rivet needs a 4.9–5.0mm hole.

  2. Insert the Blind Rivet
Place the rivet into the hole. The flange should sit flush on the material surface, with the mandrel (pin) extending outward.

  3. Use the Rivet Gun
Insert the mandrel into the rivet gun nozzle (manual, pneumatic, or electric). Ensure the gun is perpendicular to the surface.

  4. Pull the Mandrel
Squeeze the trigger or handle. The mandrel pulls the rivet body, causing it to expand and clamp the materials from behind.

  5. Mandrel Breaks Off
Once the joint is fully set, the mandrel breaks at a predefined notch, leaving a strong, clean, and sealed joint.
